Terms of service

Last updated: 2026-10-17

These terms are the agreement between you and Fadi Masannat, the independent developer who builds and runs Lucidity at www.lucidity.work ("we", "us"). They cover the Lucidity app and website. We have kept them short and plain, so please read them.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Lucidity, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Lucidity.

2. Description of service

Lucidity is a personal productivity app that helps you plan, focus, and reflect. It includes:

  • Brain OS: Tasks, projects, notes, and daily planning
  • Focus OS: Focus sessions with timers, task tracking, and energy check-ins
  • Insights OS: Patterns and summaries drawn from your own work
  • Connected services: Optional, read-only connections to Canvas LMS and Google Calendar

Lucidity is in early access. Features may change, break, or be removed as we build. We will try to give notice before removing something you rely on. If we shut Lucidity down, we will tell you in advance and give you a chance to get a copy of your data.

Suggestions, predictions, and insights are estimates drawn from your data. They can be wrong. They are not academic, medical, or professional advice.

3. Price

Lucidity is free during early access. We do not take payments today, and we will never charge you without your clear agreement.

We may introduce paid plans later. If we do, we will tell current users in advance, explain what changes, and give you time to decide. Some features may become part of a paid plan. The optional AI features described in our Privacy Policy are not switched on yet.

4. User accounts

To use Lucidity, you need an account. You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google or GitHub. You agree to:

  • Give accurate information
  • Keep only one account
  • Keep your sign-in details secure and not share them
  • Tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account
  • Take responsibility for what happens under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lucidity, or at least 16 if you live in the European Union. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

5. Acceptable use

Use Lucidity lawfully and fairly. Do not:

  • Use it for anything illegal or unauthorized
  • Try to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service, or try to get around its security or usage limits
  • Reverse engineer or copy the service, except where the law allows it
  • Scrape it or access it with bots or other automated tools without our permission
  • Upload malicious code
  • Impersonate another person or organization

6. Connected services

If you connect Canvas LMS or Google Calendar, you also follow the terms of those services and any rules your school sets. Lucidity reads from these services and never writes to them. Lucidity is not affiliated with Instructure, Google, or your school.

Data from connected services can be late, incomplete, or wrong. For example, a sync may miss an assignment or show an old due date. Always check deadlines in Canvas itself. We are not responsible for missed deadlines caused by data from a connected service.

7. Intellectual property

Our property

Lucidity, including its design, code, and name, belongs to Fadi Masannat. You may use it for your own work under these terms. These terms do not give you any other rights to it.

Your content

You own what you create in Lucidity: tasks, notes, projects, plans, and everything else. You give us permission to store, process, and display your content only to run Lucidity for you. This includes processing by the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your content.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Lucidity without owing you anything for them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • Lucidity is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind
  • We do not promise that it will always be available, secure, or free of errors
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost profits
  • Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim

Lucidity is in early access. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will also tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Lucidity after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using Lucidity and ask us to delete your account.

10. Termination

Either of us can end this agreement:

  • By you: Stop using Lucidity at any time. Delete your account in Settings, Account, or email us and we will do it for you.
  • By us: We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms. We may also close it for another reason, with reasonable notice.

When you delete your account yourself, its data is deleted right away. When an account is closed any other way, we delete its data within 30 days, as our Privacy Policy describes. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, you can download or ask for a copy of your data first. We keep information after that only where the law requires us to.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state and country where Lucidity's operator is based. We will name the jurisdiction here before any paid plan launches. If you live somewhere with mandatory consumer protection laws, you keep those protections. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems can be fixed with an email.
